I think I am already agreeing to the notion that classes in the Philippines should start in September or maybe in January. For instance, look at the weather today. It makes me feel really glum.

Apologies for the low resolution but despite the appearance, there is actually rain.
Around this time of the year last 2009, Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng swarmed the country leaving off trails of great devastation among hundred thousands of Filipinos. The year before that, Typhoon Frank did the same job. And just recently, last year, Typhoon Juan took the spotlight. The cost of damages sums up to 60billion. In just a span of 3 years, imagine that!
Oops, I’m not intending to make this post about social awareness (despite the lack of it in this blog). I think I just want to say that it’s beneficial if the start of classes is to be pushed later or earlier than usual because these natural disasters disrupt classes, sometimes ending in week-long suspensions. Yet the yearly schedule of classes remain the same and by the end of the year, it feels like we have to rush everything or we haven’t discussed enough and I find it really frustrating.

imagine having wet, useless vacations and going to school instead of the beach during summer.
